Deal’s favourite Grans had another mention on Meridian this week, as they embarked on their latest charity car challenge for Martha Trust.
The intrepid pair, Gillian Burford and Pat Wilson, who narrowly avoided being arrested in Rome last year, set off to Monte Carlo along with 7 other teams on the annual Martha Trust Challenge. Their 20 year old Astra, Bessie, with her knitted cover assembled from woolly oddments donated by the local community, is well known in town having made several appearances at various local events.
