East Kent Hospitals University Trust Governor elections

Posted on Dec 18, 2014

THIS IS IMPORTANT! YOU NEED TO ACT TODAY

East Kent Hospitals University Trust runs our acute hospitals in Ashford, Canterbury and Margate and also the Buckland Hospital in Dover.  Next month the Trust are holding elections for some of its Governor seats, one of which is for our Dover District.

Only people who are members of the Trust can vote. To be eligible to vote in this Governor election you must have joined the trust on or before 20 December 2014. It is free to join the Trust and anyone living in England or Wales can do so.

Part of the role of a Governor is to hold the Board of Directors to account.  So it is crucially important that we elect a Governor who represents the needs of the people of Deal and Walmer as well as those of the rest of the Dover District.

Vote for Deal resident Margo Laing

One of the Deal nominees running for Governor of the Dover District is Margo Laing. Since moving to Deal a few years ago she has been actively involved in a number of different community groups, as:

  • secretary of the Deal Society
  • a member of the League of Friends of Deal Hospital and on the fete committee
  • a member of the Deal Services & Implementation Group of the South Kent Coast Clinical Commissioning Group

Actively involved in making our local NHS services the best for everyone, Margo says: “We all need the NHS at some point in our lives and I want to do what I can to make sure it is there when we need it.”

Only people who are members of the Trust can vote.

To be eligible to vote in this Governor election you must have joined the trust on or before 20 December 2014.  It is free to join the Trust and anyone living in England or Wales can do so.
