To get to the final, Deal had to win the South and South East in Bloom (SSEIB) category in which it was entered so we did! Deal was a winner of the coastal town between 12,001 – 25,000 category.

We received a number of other awards and commendations in the SSEIB finals. The businesses in Deal won the Judges Award for the Best Business Community in the South & South East.

In the ‘Our Community’ category the Sandown Castle Community Garden Group, which included the involvement of the residents at the end of Sandown Road, were awarded Silver Gilt. The group were also awarded a level 4 ‘Thriving’ Commendation in the ‘Its Your Neighbourhood section’. The Landmark Garden received a Level 3 ‘Advancing’ commendation.

Thanks are due to everyone who planted up pots & baskets and the businesses who decorated their windows. Very well done to Deal & to its businesses & to the Castle Community Group and the Landmark Garden on their achievement.
