The beauty of the Micropub concept is its simplicity. We promise that The Just Reproach will offer a warm atmosphere, good beer and lively chat. No music, no food, no lager; just a place to enjoy quality real ale in the company of friends.
The Just Reproach is in easy walking distance of the High Street and beach and only about 10 minutes walk from either the train or bus stations. If you are driving, there is parking nearby in Middle Street or Beach Street Car Parks. We are also just off the National Cycle Route 1 so a good spot to replace all those fluids lost through your exertions!!
We opened on December 14th 2011 after several months of planning, licensing, flood risk assessing (yes, honestly!), soundproofing, cool room building, plumbing, painting and fitting out. Nothing is ever as straight forward as you might think at the outset!
We have now become an established part of the town having developed a core of regular customers and set up links with local businesses with whom we can work. To this end we buy our wines from the Deal branch of Borough Wines; our Ashmore cheese from the award winning Cheesemakers of Canterbury; our crisps from Kent Crisps and our cider from The Kent Cider co and we have the menu for The Star of India takeaway in the pub. We know that customers are referred to us from these businesses and it makes sense for us to support each other and to work together in this way.
Beers are sourced from Kent breweries, who deliver their own product, or further afield by distribution companies to ensure an ever changing but exciting menu of beers in the pub.
